Chandigarh (28.12.2022): The first sports university in Sonipat district, Haryana is inching towards becoming a reality with the Haryana government appointing a retired IPS officer SS Deswal (Retd IPS: 1984: HY) as its Vice Chancellor. Deswal had served as DG ITBP and Sashastra Seema Bal (SSB). The Haryana government had recently announced the setting up of sports university in the state. The university will be set up near Motilal Nehru Sports School premises as a separate entity with infrastructure upgraded up to the university level.
