Oil Corporation will invest Rs 286 crore in North East to establish two new
plants to enhance cylinder filling capacity. These two plants will be
established near Agartala in Tripura and Badapani in Meghalaya at the cost of
Rs 217 crore. As on today, there are ten plants to fill the LPG cylinders. Now
the IOC is working to enhance the capacity of six plants. This process will
require Rs 286 crore and the expansion plan will be completed by 2020. Rs 143
crore will be invested in Agartala and the capacity of this plant will be
60,000 metric tonnes per year. Badapani plant will have the capacity of 30000
metric tonne per year. Existing plants at Silchar and North
Guwahati will also get boost in terms of capacity enhancement
