
New Delhi (19.11.2022): The Centre on Saturday effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle at the level of Additional Secretary (GoI), including one in the rank of Special Secretary (GoI). The list of officers reshuffled goes like this;
- Ms Sumita Dawra (IAS:1991:AP) was appointed as Special Secretary (Logistics), Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT), Ministry of Commerce and Industry. Currently, she is Special Secretary in DPIIT.
- Vibhu Nayar (IAS:1990:TN) was appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor (AS&FA), Ministry of External Affairs (MEA). Currently, he is ED, India Trade Promotion Organisation (ITPO).
- Shantmanu (IAS:1991:UT) was appointed as AS&FA in the Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution. Currently, he is the Development Commissioner (Handicrafts), Ministry of Textiles.
- Sanjay Rastogi (IAS:1991:OR) was appointed as AS&FA, Ministry of Chemicals & Fertilizers. Currently, he is DC (Handlooms) under the Ministry of Textiles.
- Sriram Taranikanti (IAS:1992:TR) was appointed as AS&FA in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Currently, he is Additional Secretary, Inter-State Council Secretariat (ISCS) under MHA.
- Khilli Ram Meena (IAS:1993:UT), presently in the cadre, was appointed as AS&FA, Ministry of Rural Development.
- Mahmood Ahmed (IP&TA&FS:1993) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport & Highways (MoRTH). Currently, he is Joint Secretary, MoRTH.
- Rajesh Agarwal (IAS:1994:MN), presently in the Cadre, was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce.
- Rohit Kansai (IAS:1995:UT), presently in the Cadre, was appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Textiles.
- Ms. Dipti Mohil Chawla (IDAS:1995) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Defence. Currently, she is JS, Department of Defence, Ministry of Defence.
- T Natarajan (IAS:1996:GJ) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Defence Production, Ministry of Defence. Currently, he is working as Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs (DEA).
- Peeyush Kumar (IAS:1997:AP) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce. Currently, he is JS, DEA.
- Ms Kamini Chauhan Ratan (IAS:1997:UP) was appointed as AS&FA, Ministry of Petroleum & Natural Gas. Currently, she is JS, Department of Higher Education.
- Pramod Kumar Meherda (IAS:1997:OR) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. Currently, he is MD, National Food Security Mission.
Further, thirteen Joint Secretary rank officers were elevated (in-situ) in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary (govt of India) as a measure personal by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them. The list of (AS rank) officers goes like this;

- Ms Vismita Tej (IRS IT:1990), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Coal
- Sanjiv Narain Mathur (IRAS:1992), Additional Secretary, Department of Pension & Pensioners' Welfare.
- Sanjeeb Kumar Mishra (IAS:1997:OR), Secretary-cum-Controller of Examination, National Recruitment Agency, DoPT.
- Manoj Kumar Dwivedi (IAS:1997:UT), Additional Secretary, Department of Personnel & Training.
- Ashish Vachhani (IAS:1997:TN), Additional Secretary, Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance.
- Rakesh Gupta (IAS:1997:HY), Additional Secretary, President's Secretariat.
- Shyam Jagannathan (IAS:1997:AM), Development Commissioner, Santa Cruz Exclusive Export Processing Zone, Special Economic Zone, Mumbai.
- Subodh Kumar Singh (IAS:1997:CG), Additional Secretary, Department of Food & Public Distribution.
- Rabindra Kumar Agarwal (IAS:1997:KL), Deputy Director (Administration), All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi.
- Sanoj Kumar Jha (IAS:1997:SK), Additional Secretary, Ministry of Food Processing Industries.
- Rohit Kumar (IAS:1997:RJ), Additional Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat.
- Ms Alka Nangia Arora (IDAS:1991), AS&FA, Department of Agricultural Research & Education. The JS post, currently held by Ms Nangia, was restored to Additional Secretary level.
