New Delhi / Durgapur (31.05.2021): Minister of Petroleum and Natural Gas and Steel Dharmendra Pradhan has dedicated SAIL's 200-bed Covid Care Hospital with a gaseous oxygen facility to the nation in an online program. SAIL set up this plant to keep its promise to the country. The plant is located at Durgapur in Bengal. The online function was attended by Faggan Singh Kulaste, Minister of State for Steel, SS Ahluwalia, Member of Parliament from Durgapur, MLAs of the region, and Smt. Soma Mondal, Chairman, SAIL, and other senior officials from the Steel Ministry and SAIL. Pradhan appreciated SAIL's commitment to Covid care and for setting up the second covid care unit within a short time. He said that the Centre will give a boost to COVID-related medical infrastructure in the region and provide much-needed help to the patients of the region. He said that SAIL plants have set an example of how to cope with the Covid pandemic. Enumerating the Prime Minister’s vision of taking everyone along, Pradhan stressed upon vaccinating more and more people associated with the steel ecosystem including contract laborers.
