Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that S Javeed Ahmed (IPS:1984:UP) may be named as successor to Meera C Borwankar (IPS:1981:MH) - the outgoing Director General of Bureau of Police Research & Development (BPR&D). Ahmad, former UP police chief, was on May 03, 2017 appointed as DG of National Institute of Criminology & Forensic Science (NICFS).
Ms. Borwankar is set to vacate the post as she will retire this month-end. Sources said the government may clear the appointment of BPR&D chief along with NIA and SSB in a day or two.
