New Delhi (21.12.2023): The New Delhi establishment has reportedly appointed Anshuman Pattanaik, a 1994 batch IRS (Income Tax) officer as Director-General in the Competition Commission of India (CCI); a post that was vacant after Atul Verma (IPS: 1993: HP) completed his second extended term in November this year. The DG is the independent investigation arm of the CCI which handles investigations against corporate giants. Recently, it investigated into several high-profile investigations against Big Tech, including Google, Apple and Amazon, besides conducting dawn raids in several industries.
