New Delhi (09.01.2024): The New Delhi establishment on Monday late evening effected a major bureaucratic reshuffle and appointed seven officers in the rank of Additional Secretary in Govt of India and elevated (in-situ) eleven officers working ias Joint Secretary in various ministries and departments. 
The list of officers appointed as Additional Secretary in Govt of India goes as follows:  
  1. Chandra Bhushan Kumar (IAS: 1995: UT), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Additional Secretary & Mission Director, Jal Jeevan Mission, Department of Drinking Water & Sanitation. He replaces Vikas Sheel (IAS: 1994: CG) upon his appointment as Executive Director, Asian Development Bank.
  2. Samir Kumar Sinha (IAS: 1994: AM), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Additional Secretary & Director General (Acquisition), Department of Defence.
  3. Sanjeev Kumar Jindal (CSS: 1989) was appointed as Additional Secretary in the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA). Currently, he is working as Joint Secretary under MHA. 
  4. Asit Gopal (IFoS: 1990: MP) was appointed as Additional Secretary & Financial Advisor in the Ministry of Textiles by cancelling the appointment of Shakeel P Ahammed (IAS: 1995: AM) vide order dated 06.11.2023. Currently, Asit Gopal is Commissioner, Eklavya Model Residential School, National Educational Society for Tribal Students, Ministry of Tribal Affairs.
  5. Tripti Gurha (IRTS: 1993) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Women and Child Development (M/o WCD). Currently, she is Joint Secretary, (M/o WCD). 
  6. Bharat Harbanslal Khera (IAS: 1995: HP), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Additional Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs.
  7. Puja Singh Mandol (IA&AS: 1995) was appointed as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Statistics & Programme Implementation. She replaces Alok Shekhar (IAS: 1994: PB) upon his repatriation to parent cadre. Currently, she is Joint DG, Directorate General of Civil Aviation. 
Further, eleven Joint Secretary rank officers serving in various ministries and departments were also upgraded (in-situ) to the level of Additional Secretary (Govt of India) as a measure personal to them by temporarily upgrading the posts held by them. The list of officers goes as follows:  
  1. Shubha Thakur (CSS: 1989) was (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of Agriculture & Farmers Welfare. She is Joint Secretary in the same department.
  2. Sanjukta Mudgal (IFoS: 1990: MP) was (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Culture. She is Joint Secretary, Ministry of Culture. 
  3. Anant Swarup (IRPS: 1992) was (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce. He is  JS in the  Department of Commerce.
  4. Navaljit Kapoor (IRS IT: 1992), JS in the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, was (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Tribal Affairs. 
  5. Manoj Pandey (IRS IT: 1992), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs, was (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
  6. Rahul Navin (IRS IT: 1993), Special Director, Directorate of Enforcement, was (in-situ) elevated in the rank and pay of Additional Secretary.
  7. Anurag Bajpai (IFoS: 1994: MN) was (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of Defence Production. He is JS in the Department of Defence Production.
  8. Alok Pande (IPoS: 1994) was (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), Ministry of Finance. He is JS, DIPAM in the Ministry of Finance.
  9. Sunil Kumar (IFoS: 1995: PB), JS in the Department of Science & Technology (DST) , was (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of Science & Technology.
  10. Hanif Qureshi (IPS: 1996: HY), Joint Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries, was (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries.
  11. Anandrao Vishnu Patil (IAS: 1998: TN), JS in the Department of School Education & Literacy, was (in-situ) elevated as Additional Secretary, Department of School Education & Literacy.
