New Delhi (28.05.2024): If some well-placed sources are to be believed Mrs Seema Kumar (IRTS: 1986), the outgoing Railway Board Member (Operations & Business Development), may be appointed as Managing Director of Pipavav Railway Corporation Limited (PRCL). Reportedly, the PIPAVAV Board has ratified her appointment. 
The selection committee under the chairmanship of Prabhas Dansana (IRTS: 1988), currently Principal ED TT (M), Railway Board, interviewed over thirteen candidates, in the second week of May, of which eight belonged to IRTS including Mrs Seema Kumar.  
It may be underlined that Seema Kumar is retiring on 31.05.2024 and may take over as MD, PRCL on 01.06.2024. For her, it will be a smooth transition from retirement to a key post-retirement position.

ABOUT PRCL:

PRCL, India’s first PPP in the development of infrastructure, is a 50:50 Joint Venture Company of Indian Railways and Gujarat Pipavav Port Ltd (GPPL), set up to construct, maintain and operate 271 kilometers long broad-gauge railway line connecting the Port of Pipavav to Surendranagar Junction of Western Railway, in Gujarat. is a unique example of PPP.
